I learned last night at the Meet Managers meeting that we can add new swimmers at any time during the season.  We just have to have their liability form signed and their name uploaded to the GKAISA website before they can enter the water for a meet.  However, they still have to compete in 2 events to be eligible for the City Meet.

 

I also found out that the Green and White counts for City as long as - 50% of the team participates, one or more coaches is present, and the meet is judged and scored - and our G&W meets all those criteria.

 

We have to send copies of all of our liability forms to GKAISA by June 15th.  Pool insurance certificate needs to be to GKAISA by June 15th also.  

 

And, not sure if this changed, but they made a point to tell us that if a meet is interrupted by weather -or whatever- the HOME coach decides when to call it and restart it - and it is not a mutual decision between coaches.  If meet cannot continue, meets should be rescheduled if they have not reached event 40.  After event 40, the meet can be rescheduled or considered a complete meet - and the coaches DO have to agree to that....complete rules for rescheduling are in our GKAISA notebook that I will have at the pool - or on the GKAISA website.

 

They also suggested we add a water runner to our volunteer positions - as they have had several instances of workers passing out from the heat.

 

And they said it would be a good idea to have an emergency plan for rescuers to have access to meet area in case of an emergency - fire lane reserved, clear access into the pool, etc. - and we need to have a communication plan for parents for when a meet is cancelled within 2 hours of a meet. (which we have email - and texting capabilities for a fee - thru the website)
