WCST Concessions Announcement

    WCST Parents,

Our fabulous concessions managers, Karen Clark and Claire Jones, have informed the Board that they need to phase out of their positions this year. Both have begun working new jobs, and as such, will not be able to commit the time necessary to set up and organize our concessions. We have been truly blessed to have them providing this service at WCST home meets. The Board appreciates their dedication to making our swim meets fun - and delicious! Thank you, Karen and Claire!!

So parents, WCST needs two volunteers to learn the positions of Concessions Managers - in order to continue to provide dinner and snacks for our families and visiting teams at home swim meets.

Concessions is a FUN volunteer position! You get to see and chat with all the kids and families at the pool. It requires little knowledge of swimming making it an easy job for parents of new swimmers. It is staffed with several people for each shift so that everyone can take a break and watch their kids' swim events. We only have concessions at home meets - so managers are off the clock for away meets. And next year, concessions will be using the brand new kitchen in the outdoor pavilion being built at our pool by the Homeowners Association.

Karen has compiled a complete notebook with EVERYTHING anyone needs to know about concessions and promises to make it an easy transition for the new managers. Claire will continue to help this year and knows all about setting up and running the concessions during the meets. Karen will also work the concession stand as her schedule permits helping to train you and your team of parent volunteers.

Concessions also holds one voting position on the WCST Board - so anyone volunteering for this position would have input into the planning and direction of the swim team.

If you are interested in volunteering for this much needed and appreciated position of Concessions Manager, please contact Andy Barre, WCST President, at [email protected].
