This Week's Practices

    Hey Parents!

Congrats to your Crocs on completing a very tough week of practices! I just wanted to write and let you guys know how hard your swimmers have been working to not only get better but also to prepare for the Smoky Mountain and City Championship meets.

This week, in particular, was fairly difficult and I wanted to explain why- I want to assure you all that there is a reason behind the challenges presented to your kids! Because this was our bye week for meets and also a shortened week for the holiday weekend, the coaches and I designed some very challenging practices for your kids to complete. These more aerobic and race-paced practices were intended to keep us on track for the meet on Tuesday. Because they have a four day weekend to relax, rest, and recover, the practices written were made to test their technique, make them a little tired, and keep them progressing in the direction we have been time-wise: dropping!!

Let me assure you: practices will NOT be this hard moving forward. We have a lot of big meets coming up and in order to keep your Crocs dropping time and winning meets the best way to enforce the skills needed to keep improving are to keep pushing limits!

Next week we have a Tuesday Meet, a clinic on Wednesday, and then Smoky. These practices will have sets designed more towards emphasizing the importance of good skills in races and fine tuning little details, as well as executing these skills in a competition-like environment. The week after will be back to a normal practice regiment: kicking, aerobic swimming, and a little racing to keep preparing for City. The week of City will, like with Smoky, be emphasizing and fine-tuning skills and practicing executing perfect race technique.

Also, if your kids would like additional private lessons this week because of Smoky get in touch with the coaches and we will work in time to get your swimmers even more prepared for next weekend's races!

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to email me.

I hope you all have a safe and fun July 4th!

    Go Crocs!
