SUMMER IS ALMOST HERE!

    Dear Creek Family,

I can not tell you how incredibly honored I am to serve as your head coach of the WCST Crocs this upcoming 2016 season! If you are receiving this e-mail, you were on the roster for last years swim season.

I just wanted to give everyone a shout out and make sure that each and every one of you knows that I could not be more excited for this upcoming season. I am asking that all of you take 5 minutes out of your day to let me tell you about my experience and love for WCST.

So I'd like to tell everyone a little something about myself. I went to Blue Grass Elementary when my family moved to Knoxville in the third grade. I made tons of friends from my neighborhood that attended my school when I joined the swim team that summer. At the end of my fifth grade school year, my parents told me I would be attending Webb School for sixth grade in the fall. It was probably the roughest transition that I have ever had to go through thus far in my life. Social interactions, athletic teams, and academics all became a great challenge for eleven year old Jane. I felt like I had absolutely nobody that I considered a friend that first year when I moved to Webb. I honestly do not think I would have made it through that transition as well as many others if I did not have my Creek family.

Whittington Creek Swim Team has been my backbone the last thirteen years. The friends that I made growing up in this amazing community have never ceased to be in my corner. Even with the difference in schools separating us on a daily basis, our friendships always picked up right where they left off once the summer days and nights at the Creek rolled through again. To this very day, the best buddies that I have ever had in my 21 years came right from this family. WCST is not merely a swim team, it is a forever home for so many of us Creek kiddos.

What I am trying to say is that living in this amazing community is a wonderful privilege that we all have the opportunity of sharing together. Throughout our busy schedules of the school year, I understand many of us do not get to see each other as much as we'd like. Swim Team works as a big part of the bond that continues to keep all of us together year after year. Please encourage your kids to come back and be a part of the team again this year. I can not promise your kids will have the same exact experience that I have had, but I CAN promise that they will learn how to work very hard, make true friends, and share memories that last a life time.

Thank you all so much for taking time out of your day to read my e-mail. Please pass this message along to your kids. I am so excited to be home for the summer with each and every one of them. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Ice Cream Social on May 1st 3-5 PM!

    Creek on 3! 1..2..3..
