Meet our Coaches!!!

    Abby Lowe- Abby grew up in Whittington Creek and swam for the team for 12 years. This will be her fourth year coaching WC. Abby swam and played tennis for Bearden High School, and swam her last two years with TNAQ. She specialized in fly and sprint free. She will be a senior at UK this fall and is set to graduate next May. 

    "I've looked forward to swim team every summer for as long as I can remember, and at this point it's hard for me to imagine a summer anywhere else. I love that I still get to come home every year and continue to be a part of the team, and I can't wait to see what this summer will bring!"

     

    Matthew Dunphy- Matthew is from the small town of Winchester, Tennessee. He now lives in Knoxville and swims for UT. He will be starting his junior year this fall. He has been swimming since he was 14. His favorite stroke is breastroke, and best event is the 200 breast. This will be Matthew's second summer coaching for WC.

    "The thing I am looking forward to the most this summer is being around the team. I didn't grow up in a neighborhood, so it is really fun for me to hang out with everyone, because it is like a big family. I am excited to win some meets, and swim fast!"

     

    Sam Mchugh- Sam is from Chattanooga, Tennessee. He has been swimming since he was 7 years old. He will be swimming his senior year at UT this fall. He swam on a summer league team in Chattanooga every summer growing up. This will be his first year coaching for WC. His best event is the 400 IM. 

    "I am looking forward to coaching this summer because there is nothing more exciting than watching swimmers develop at the beginning of the sport, and I'm excited to win some dual meets!"

     

    Maddy Banic- Maddy is from Midlothian, Virginia. She has been swimming for 11 years and will be starting her junior year this fall swimming at UT. She has coached in Virginia for three years. This will be her first summer coaching WC. She specializes in sprint free and fly. 

    "My favorite part about coaching is getting in the water to help the kiddos and seeing them improve over the course of the season. I am excited to meet new families and make this season the best one yet!"

     

    Faith Barre- Faith lives in Whittington Creek, and has been swimming for 10 years. This is her second year swimming for TNAQ as well. She is a senior at Catholic High School, and will be attending UT this fall. She specializes in breastroke, short distance free, and the 200 IM. She also enjoys playing tennis and boating with her family and friends.

    "I am looking forward to coaching this year because I love to see the younger swimmers grow and improve in swimming. It will be my last year swimming on the team, so I definitely want to make the most of it!"
