New this year - croc mile fundraiser!

As most of you know, each year our 10&under swimmers have the chance to swim the crocodile mile. Traditionally on croc mile day, swimmers have one hour during practice to swim as many laps as they can. They are responsible for pacing themselves, but coaches and older kids do count their laps for them. Any swimmer who completes one mile (66 laps) receives a t shirt and is recognized at the banquet.

This year we're changing it up a little bit– croc mile will be for ALL ages and will double as a fundraiser for Tennessee Children's Diabetes Camp. We will donate in honor of 13 year old Winston Hovis, who has been swimming with WCST for 9 years!

    Here's how it works:
Attached to this email you'll find a printable pledge form and a flyer that you can use to help explain the event. Between now and croc mile day, we're asking each swimmer to secure donations from friends and family– donors can either pledge a certain amount per lap or a flat amount just for participating. When gathering donations, keep in mind that 66 laps (one mile) is the goal for 10&unders, but they will be encouraged to continue swimming if they have time left after completing a mile. Most 11&ups should aim to finish at least 100 laps in an hour– a really awesome goal would be to swim two miles (132 laps)! We will swim the croc mile during both morning and afternoon practices on Tuesday July 18th.

10&unders who swim 66+ laps will still be recognized at the banquet and receive a croc mile t shirt. In addition, we will recognize the 10&under and 11&up swimmers who raise the most money and who complete the most laps (4 total awards).

Huge thank you to the Hovis family for helping us make this happen!!! Please let me know if you have any questions!
