WCST v. Gettsyvue (GCC) Monday July 21st - Meet Info

Our last dual meet of the 2025 season is on Monday July 21st at Gettsyvue Country Club. This is sure to be a competitive meet! Below is some information about their venue and other things to note.

Pool Location: 9317 Linksvue Drive, Knoxville, TN 37922. They have a surface parking lot located at the clubhouse. Additional parking can be found in the grassy area adjacent to the tennis courts off of Gettysvue Drive, just down the hill from the pool and clubhouse.

    Warmups at 5:30

Away team seating: Visitor seating is located on the grassy area at the base of the stairs leading to the pool deck. This is not a shaded area so they ask that visitors bring their own tents, blankets, and chairs. Please ensure young children do not play out on the golf course greens, they must stay in the grass area adjacent to the pool.

Concessions: The snack bar will be offering a buffet of hotdogs, chicken tenders, hamburgers and fries for $14. You may use card or cash.

More will come from the coaches and Melody prior to the meet regarding the heat sheet, buddies, etc. and volunteer responsibilities. If you have a swimmer committed and have issues with volunteering, please reach out to Melody ASAP so she can plan accordingly.

This is a METER pool. Remind your swimmers that their times they get from the timers as they are exiting the water will not be converted to YARDS. You can see the conversion in SwimTopia. 25 meters is only 27.34 yards, so more additional length than Michael Jordan’s wingspan to swim. Piece of cake!

We will have our large team tent setup for the 8u and 10u families, and you are encouraged to bring chairs and tents if you need. There is no shade at our bullpen, and the swim deck is fairly narrow. With the Gettsyvue swimmers using that area, space on the pool deck is limited and we need to help maintain some space spectating. There will be a Clerk of Course and we will buddy up the 8Us, but we are also seated behind the pool down a slight embankment, so it is not easy to hear the announcer and starter. Let’s all make sure the young swimmers get to their events!

Bring the usual things – caps, goggles, water, sharpies, chairs, towels, bug spray, sunscreen, and please write your swimmer(s) name(s) and age(s) on their backs to assist the Clerk of Course and the Lane Timers.

All things SMI to come – and please be sure to RSVP for the banquet at the end of the season being held on August 10th from 4-7 so we have a good headcount for food and beverages. You don’t want to miss this party. Food (not pizza!!), drinks, awards, speeches, and one last chance for the team to get together!

    GO CROCS!!!
